Bunny Chow – South African Street Food Curry
Bunny chow, often referred to simply as a bunny, is a South African street food dish consisting of a hollowed-out loaf of white bread filled with curry. There is absolutely no rabbit meat involved in this dish, deliciously tasty comfort food made with aromatic spices, meat, chickpeas and potatoes. The term bunny is a variation from the word “Bania“ name given to Indian South African traders of Durban who sold this tasty street food.
